Alternanthera (Red)

Description

Alternanthera Red is Mat-forming to erect perenial with elliptic to obovate, pointed, mid-green leaves, 2.5cm long, which are marked with combinations of red, orange, purple, and yellow. Height 20-40cm, Spread indefinite. A amoena, is dwarf, with lance-shaped to elliptic, mid-green leaves, heavily mottled and veined brown-red, orange, and purple

USES: A strong border, bedding or edging plant. Also used in containers, planters, window boxes and hanging baskets.

SIZE: Grows 20 – 40cm tall with upto 1m spread.

LOCATION: Full sun to partial shade. Does well in full sun in humid coastal areas and in partial midsummer shade in the dry interior regions.

WATER: Regular irrigation to maintain growth through the summer . Does not accept over irrigation or waterlogging.
