Yucca Elephantipes
Known variously as the Spineless Yucca, Spanish Dagger. They have thick woody stems that bar, at their upper ends, clusters of long, dark-green, spear-shaped leaves. During late spring and summer, yuccas may produce dramatic clusters of white, bell-shaped flowers.
The Yucca plant – care for this versatile indoor and outdoor plant is flexible, easy care, easy to maintain – and being considered one of the top air cleaning indoor plants is just another benefit.
Yucca do well in bright indirect sunlight, so they’re perfect for that west-facing window. Growing yucca in low light will lead to fewer flowers and thinner growth for the plant. Yucca plant soil should also retain water well. Try a 3:1 mixture of sand and peat in your container. Yucca is highly sensitive to water-logging. Water regularly in the spring and summer growing season, but make sure the plant has excellent drainage and dries between waterings. Water sporadically in the winter. Never let a yucca plant sit in a tray of water.
